LEADERSHIP TEAM

Joe Otto is President and CEO of Alpine Data Labs. In his role, Mr. Otto is responsible for Alpine’s strategic direction, growth initiatives and overall execution. Prior to joining Alpine, Joe served for five years as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Services for Greenplum, where he established Greenplum’s commercial footprint and developed it into a global business. Joe’s 30 year technology career includes significant leadership roles at Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, and EMC, as well as executive leadership positions in early stage startups in Artificial Intelligence, Networking and CRM. Throughout his career Joe has developed high performance sales and marketing teams, driving innovation to deliver business transformation and extreme growth. Joe is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Steven Hillion has been leading large engineering and analytics projects for fifteen years. Before joining Alpine Data Labs, he founded the analytics group at Greenplum, leading a team of data scientists and also designing and developing new open-source and enterprise analytics software. Before that, he was Vice President of Engineering at M-Factor, Inc. (acquired by DemandTec) where he built analytical applications that became a global standard for demand modeling. Earlier, at Kana Communications, Steven led the engineering group during the two largest releases of its flagship product. At Scopus Technology (later Siebel Systems) he co-founded development groups for finance, telecom and other verticals. He received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, and was a King Charles I Scholar at Oxford University.

Roy Ibasco oversees finance and administration functions for Alpine Data Labs. With a background in both Fortune 500 companies and start-ups in the United States and Asia, his experience broadly covers financial planning and analysis, investment banking and Big 4 public accounting. Roy is a Certified Public Accountant (Massachusetts) with a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of the Philippines. He earned his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Phil Cooper brings to Alpine over 15 years of enterprise experience selling, designing and delivering data warehouse, data discovery, master data management, eCommerce and search solutions. Most recently, Phil was Senior Director, BI and Analytics at Oracle where he acted as a product evangelist for the acquired Endeca Information Discovery technology. Previously, Phil held a number of management positions at Endeca Technologies, including leading the Western region consulting practice where he delivered ground-breaking decision-support solutions to key accounts including Toyota, Boeing, and Apple. Before Endeca, Phil held key leadership positions at Kalido and Royal Dutch Shell. Phil holds a B.S. from the University of Exeter, U.K. and a master’s degree in GIS & Remote Sensing from the University of Cambridge, U.K.

Arshak Navruzyan has an in-depth background in decision-support systems. Prior to joining Alpine Data Labs, Arshak was in a senior product management role at Oracle, responsible for competitive intelligence and outbound marketing of Oracle Endeca Information Discovery. Previously Arshak has held senior technical and product management roles at Endeca and EzGDS. Arshak earned a B.A. from UCLA.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Tim Guleri joined Sierra Ventures firm in 2001 and focuses on investments in the consumer (mobile Internet), enterprise software (SaaS), infrastructure software (security, deployment, management), and open source. Prior to joining the firm, he built two software infrastructure companies. Tim served as the Vice Chairman and the Executive Vice President of Business Development at Epiphany. He co-founded Octane Software and served as the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman from 1997 to 2000. Tim served as a Vice President of Technical Field Operations and Product Marketing at Scopus Technology from 1992 to 1997, heading the Sales and Marketing functions. He began his career as an Executive in Information Technology at LSI Logic between 1989 and 1992.

Leo Spiegel is a Managing Partner at Mission Ventures. Prior to joining Mission Ventures, Leo Spiegel was President of Digital Island, Inc., a leading provider of global e-business network and content delivery services. Leo joined Digital Island as a result of a merger with Sandpiper Networks, Inc., where he was the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. In 2000, Leo won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Prior to his leadership of Sandpiper Networks, Leo served as Senior Vice President and CTO of Donnelley Enterprise Solutions Incorporated. Leo was the co-founder, EVP and CTO of LANSystems, a network utilities software developer and international systems integration firm, which was sold to Intel Corporation and R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company.
BOARD OF ADVISORS

Jonathan Francis is a senior statistician at Nike in Global Digital and Direct-to-Consumer Marketing. Jonathan brings over 15 years of experience in advancing analytics for leading data-driven companies, including Amazon.com, T-Mobile, Microsoft, and Expedia. He has an M.S. in Statistics from Oregon State University and a B.A. in Mathematics from St. Olaf College. Having successfully applied analytics to identify business opportunities in database marketing and website optimization, Jonathan will be helping to drive the strategic direction of Alpine's product suite, and ensuring it meets the needs of analytic practitioners across industries.

Diego Klabjan is Founding Director of the Master of Science in Analytics program at Northwestern University, where he is an associate professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences since 2007. Prior to that, he was at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, after obtaining his doctorate from the Milton School of Industrial and Systems Engineering of the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999. Professor Klabjan has led projects with large companies such as FedEx Express, GM, and United Continental, and he is also the CEO and founder of Eco Green Analytics LLC.
FOUNDERS

Anderson Wong founded Alpine Data Labs in 2010 to bring a new era to predictive analytics. Prior to founding the company, he was the General Manager responsible for the success of Greenplum's (acquired by EMC) entry to China. Before Greenplum, Anderson was the Greater China General Manager for IBM SOA/Websphere group. Under his leadership, the group turned around negative annual growth to a year over year growth of 65 percent. Before that role, Anderson held a variety of management positions at Sun, IBM and American Power Conversion, where he helped build a $1.5M business to $10M in 18 months. Anderson received a B.E. from Vanderbilt University and MS from Stanford University.

Yi-Ling Chen has over 20 years IT experience and a rich background in consulting and systems and application technologies. Prior to cofounding Alpine Data Labs, Yi-Ling was Technical Director of support and service for Greenplum in China. She was a member of Greenplum's vanguard team in acquiring new customers and revenue streams in the Greater China region. Previously, she managed a team of Websphere subject-matter experts supporting IBM sales in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. As an IBM consultant, she helped Fortune 500 enterprises with application design and development. Previously, Yi-Ling was on the team of two start-ups: Applied Science Fiction (in image processing) and BiometricAccess Corporation. Yi Ling holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas and M.S. in Computer Science from Texas State University.
